Change the "&band1=Artist or Band Name 1" with your band name. Be sure not to delete the "&band1=". You will do this edit for each player that you add to your website. You can add up to 5 players.

STEP #6: CHECK YOUR WORK
Open the page that you added the code from step #4 into in your web browser, the player should now be working.

OPTIONS:

Using Other Skins:
Click here for instructions and available skins.

How to edit the "flash-xmp3Player.txt" with other skins:
The "flash-xmp3Player.txt" now includes code for using 5 players on your website. If for example you added one player to your page using the code in step #4, and you want to change player skins, edit the text following "&skin1=" with another skin selection as shown on the skins_xmp3Player.htm. Edit the text following "&play1=" and "&stop1=" with your play and stop button choices. You will do this in the "flash-xmp3Player.txt" for each player you add.

Making Your Own Skins:
You can create your own custom player skin and play and stop buttons. Make the main player skin 300 x 50 pixels and the stop and play buttons 50 x 50 pixel standard .jpg images. Place these files in the "xmp3Player\skins" folder. Then edit the "flash-xmp3Player.txt" in the "xmp3Player" folder with your three file names.

The Autostart Option:
You can choose to have the player or players autostart the mp3 song when the HTML page loads. This is a yes or no option for each of the 5 players in the "flash-xmp3Player.txt".

Player Background Colors:
You can edit the xmp3Player background colors in the .js files in the xmp3Player folder. For example edit the "xmp3Player1.js" if you have added a single player to your website.

Player Border Colors:
You can set the color and width of the border around each player. To change the border edit the .js files in the xmp3Player folder.

The PSD files:
PSD files for the skin images can be found in the "extras". PSD files are layered image files that are used when editing in Photoshop and some other graphics programs.

Mp3 File Length Limits:
There are no set limits on the length or file size for this application. You can use any .mp3 file for this player. It can be music or it can be a sound file.

Adding More Than One xmp3Player:
You can add up to 5 xmp3Players to your website. To add another player use the same code from step #4 but change the "xmp3Player/xmp3Player1.js" to "xmp3Player/xmp3Player2.js" for the second player. Edit the "flash-xmp3Player.txt" and edit the "TITLE2" and "band2" text with your info. Do this for each player 1-5.

Troubleshooting:
If you do the steps above and the xmp3Player is not working:

  1. Be sure you have put the "xmp3Player" folder and the 3 HTML files in this folder in the same folder as the HTML page you are adding the player into.
  2. Try doing the above steps again from the start.
  3. Click here if this is not working when uploaded to your hosting area.
Skin Images Not Working:
If you have replaced the skin, play and stop .jpg images in the "skins" folder and they are not showing up on the page here are some possible reasons.
  1. Check the file names and paths in the "flash-xmp3Player.txt".
  2. Do not save these .jpg images as "progressive". Be sure to save them as "standard" .jpg images. Try re-saving these images using a "save as" and be sure to select "standard".
  3. Have you named the skin images with all lowercase letters? Remember that hosting is case sensitive.
  4. You have edited the wrong images or the player files are not unzipped properly.
